  • The World Health Organization announced that Malawi became the first country to start immunizing children against malaria.


  • Walgreens is increasing the age to buy tobacco at its drugstores to 21 later this year.
  • The United States is experiencing its worst measles outbreak in 25 years, with 695 cases reported in 2019.
  • A study funded by the National Institutes of Health found that there was an increase in suicide rates among children ages 10-17 after Netflix released 13 Reasons Why.
